About Dr. Hoverstad
Dr. Hoverstad’s interest in oral surgery began when he had the opportunity to shadow his mentor, Dr. Chris Lawley. He was then hired to work as a surgical assistant in Dr. Lawley's office, where he gained valuable hands-on experience.
In 2018, Dr. Hoverstad established his own practice after spending four years at a larger group practice. Seeking to work closer to home in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Hoverstad started his practice from scratch and is proud of the tremendous growth it has achieved over the past five years.
Running his own practice allows Dr. Hoverstad and his dedicated team to provide the highest level of care to their patients. They are constantly evaluating and improving their processes to ensure that each patient's experience is positive and stress-free. Dr. Hoverstad finds great reward in helping patients overcome infections, alleviate pain, and restore their smiles in a way that exceeds their expectations.
Building strong relationships with his patients is a priority for Dr. Hoverstad. He believes in getting to know each patient as an individual, understanding their unique stories, and developing a foundation of trust. By establishing this connection, Dr. Hoverstad can better educate patients about their oral health and provide tailored solutions that meet their needs.
Education & Residency
Dr. Hoverstad completed his undergraduate studies from NC State University. He went on to attend the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Boston University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Hoverstad is board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is also a member of many professional organizations:

Outside the Office
Outside of his practice, Dr. Hoverstad cherishes his role as a husband and father to four children. He prioritizes spending quality time with his family, supporting his children's athletic endeavors, and enjoying competitive activities like golf. To unwind, Dr. Hoverstad and his family often travel to North Carolina's beautiful beaches and mountains, taking advantage of the state's natural wonders.
